About the course
Ideal for those who have completed our Introduction to Graphic Design course or with prior knowledge, this course will refine your graphic design skills and develop your professional approach.
You will work on practical projects, challenging your creative thinking and technical ability. Through the creation of compelling visual communication for real-world applications, you will explore your personal design style, building creative confidence and technical expertise.
You will be taught in specialist digital design studios and supported by the course teacher through practical demonstrations, one-to-one tuition and group discussions. You will require access to a device with an internet connection.
Learners are responsible for purchasing their own materials. You may be required to bring some materials to your first, and subsequent classes. Learn more about the materials required for this course here. Please do not purchase any materials until your course is confirmed to run.
What you'll learn
Learning in this course is hands-on, and your skills will develop through practice, discovery, and engagement with materials and techniques.
If you have fully engaged with all the learning activities and have attended regularly, by the end of the course, you should be able to:
- Generate and develop creative ideas for visual communication, using research and contextual references to support their design decisions;
- Apply a range of graphic design methods, tools, and techniques with confidence, tailoring their approach to suit different audiences and project goals;
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas effectively, employing skills that are applicable in fields such as marketing, branding, publishing, and digital media.

Ideal for those who have completed our Introduction to Graphic Design course, or those with prior knowledge.
Learners with an enthusiasm for creative exploration or who enjoy making things may find this course particularly rewarding.

Entry criteria
The course is suitable for those who have completed our Introduction to Graphic Design course or who have some prior experience. This course welcomes those with a vivid imagination and enthusiasm for creative exploration.

Your course teacher will guide you to relevant sources.
Reading, listening and communication skills are essential. You must be comfortable learning in English. You will need basic digital skills, such as using a computer and navigating a website, to access the learning materials.
