Data Science for Football Professionals

This six-week course is delivered by UEFA qualified football coaches and lead data analysts from the English Football League (EFL). Unlike other football analytics courses available on the market, this course is specifically designed for domain experts in the football industry with no data literacy. The course has three main components:

1. A taught element on the real-life application of data analytics in football
2. An entry-level tutorial on football event data analysis using Python
3. Team building exercise to develop a football analytics report, where students from a football background work together with data scientists to ensure instant integration between data skill and football knowledge.

Based on weekly pre-recorded short videos and light-touch asynchronous tutorials, this course is designed to support self-paced learning to fit into the busy schedule of the typical sport professional's full-time job.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Generate data reports from football datasets
• Apply new data insights on and off the pitch
• Combine data with football expertise 

The course is custom designed for any practitioner in the football industry at any level of the pyramid with no prior experience with data who wants to learn how to combine analytics and football expertise.
