Italian Advanced Conversation (C1+)

This is our highest level of proficiency course in Italian.

In this course, you will consolidate and strengthen your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a variety of learning activities in class and at home.

You will study, discuss and comment on authentic materials carefully selected to broaden and deepen your proficiency in Italian. Learning materials may include news articles, radio and TV recordings, reports, academic papers, extracts from literature and film clips. Class-based learning activities typically include giving a short presentation, taking part in a discussion or a debate. At home, you will have opportunities to practice your writing, and further opportunities to read or listen to authentic materials.

You will require access to a device with an internet connection. You will be provided with all necessary course materials.

In this course, you will continue to:

• Enrich your vocabulary, including idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms
• Develop your understanding of humour, irony and implicit cultural references
• Strengthen your competence to produce clear, smoothly flowing, well-structured language

This course is our highest level of proficiency course. It is open to anyone who has completed Italian Advanced Step 6 or has reached C1 level proficiency. If you have previously learned Italian and are unsure of your level, please self-assess.

You need to have completed Italian Advanced Step 6 or have reached C1 level proficiency. If you are unsure of your level, please self assess.

You will need to have reading, listening and communication skills, including the ability to understand detailed ideas and information presented verbally and in writing. You must be comfortable learning in English if it is not your first language. You will need basic digital skills, such as using a computer and navigating a website, to access the learning materials.
