About the course
This course is the third step of six progressive steps to complete our beginners level in Japanese.
In this course, which is taught in Japanese, you will consolidate your reading and writing skills using Hiragana and Katakana and learn a number of Kanji characters. You will also learn to talk about what you eat and drink, describe people and talk about your home.
You will develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a variety of learning activities in class and at home. Class-based activities include small-group role-plays, responding to short texts, listening to dialogues or watching video clips. Language learning requires regular practice, and you will consolidate your skills at home, with vocabulary, grammar and writing exercises.
Please note, you will need to buy textbooks to support your learning on this course. You will find details of the textbooks in the ‘What you’ll learn’ section of the course overview. Please do not purchase any materials until your course is confirmed to run. You will require access to a device with an internet connection.
