Using GenAI with Confidence (Higher Education Professional Services)

This is an online self-paced course which will include an introduction to generative AI and tools and tips on using these effectively to support work within professional services in the Higher and Further Education sectors.  

Including real-life case studies introduced by Professional Services staff from across the University of Edinburgh to demonstrate how they use generative AI as a tool to support activities and to take the effort out of routine tasks. For example, using it to brainstorm ideas, assist with writing, summarising meetings, and automating routine tasks.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Demonstrate how generative AI can be used to help with some typical work tasks  
• Identify areas where generative AI might be utilised effectively  
• Use a generative AI confidently to generate text (‘build your confidence’)  
• Obtain better responses from the AI  
• Describe features of responsible use of AI in a work context  

This course is designed for professional services staff working within a  Higher Education or Further Education context with an interest in generative AI tools who are looking for tips on using these effectively to support their own work.  

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.  Learners do not require any technical background.
